I got thinking while typing up the abilities for all of the pokemon in Gangirox, what would MY team be? This will NOT be, by any stretch, a "best team" for Gangirox, but rather my team. I've got the list, and now I'm ready. My team, and Marik's team, will be different, with only 1 similarity. This will also me outlining my journey through the Gangirox region the way it's SUPPOSED to be done.

--

Starting off, I wake up and am told to go to the lab where I am given a choice of one of the 3 pokemon everyone gets at the beginning. Graseed, Heatling, or Calfua. Stats-wise, and type-wise, I like the Calfua line, but move-wise and design-wise, i like Graseed. But, for the journey, since I am given all the time I want in a battle, I'll go with Calfua, ergo, my starter is Hydramel. Water/Ground type with Torrent as its ability makes no difference. Its moves will be Stockpile, Aqua Ring, Hump Pump, and Ice Beam. While I may only have 1 STAB move, it makes no difference when that move has an effect that boost its power when there is any Stockpile in place, when, combined with Aqua Ring, can give it more of a way to sustain itself and dish out damage. As for Ice beam, well there's got to be a way to deal with Grass types.

Going down the road from the starting town, I can encounter 2 pokemon, but I pick neither as I continue to the next town. I get there and am greeted by the Tournament Champion, Sol. She explains that she runs the trainer school there, and is also the Tournament Champion. She says that I can't go south or east of here, so I am forced to face the tournament. And, I do so, but before I do, I am given an egg by a trainer in the center. After the tournament, I head South like I am instructed to do. On the way, I pick up another pokemon, a flying type, Boltrid, which will eventually become a Fast, Special attacking, Electric/Flying type Thundreed. At the end of my journey, it will have Thunder, Hurricane, Energy Ball, and Rain Dance. being fast, it sets up Rain Dance on the first turn it's out, setting it up for either my Hydramel, or for itself to spam Thunder or Hurricane, which will never miss. And if you decide to send out a Ground Type, then it also has Energy Ball. It also comes armed with the Lightningrod ability, making it a great switch-in from a

I go down the road, and, when I get through the forest, and to the next town, I am told that the champion lies on top of the hill at the western most part of the town. I go up to it, and I decide to catch yet another team member. One that i hear can help with the Tournament. I sit and wait for one to appear. I catch him, a Banshriek. I learn that he evolves with a Dusk Stone, but i ignore that for now, as I don't have one. When I do evolve him, he'll be a Clashriek, a Ghost/Fighting type. He'll be armed with Shadow Punch, Drain Punch, Fire Punch, and Meteor Mash. Shadow Punch will never miss, Drain Punch will heal it, Thunder Punch can paralyze its foes, and Meteor Mash can raise its attack, with Iron Fist to boost its punching moves' power. I use it to defeat the tournament, whose champion, Gravek, urges me to head east, then south.

However, as I get to the town in the east, I see that the path South is Blocked. Around this time, my egg hatches into a Pupest, however, I box it, as I have no intention of using one. I head north, seeing nowhere else to go, to find Sol waiting. She gives me a TM, and then I head back south, able to pass through, now. I get to the tournament and I see that it's open, so i challenge it, and beat Dessire, the Champion... then I find out that a Sandstorm has brewed so harsh, I can't progress any further. I am told to go west to an Altar where I can find the pokemon responsible and KO or catch it. I head out there, only to find an awakened Eargon. I catch it, as the Tournament Champion had one on her team, and I planned to add one to mine. If I could find someone to trade with, I could easily get a Magniake now. When I do, it'll have Sap Sipper for its ability. It'll have Earthquake, Dragon Rush, Iron Head, and Brick Break. Earthquake is its most powerful Ground move, and rightly so, and, while Dragon Rush is inaccurate, it can hit just as hard. Iron Head and Brick Break cover its weaknesses to Fairy and Ice, respectively.

After I do that, the egg hatches into a Pupest, but I box it. I go east, then, and when I get to the crossroads, I head north. When I arrive at the Rain Forest, it's, well, raining. I am told that the Tournament is open, so I go in, to see a swimming pool... with the roof open, letting the rain in. I challenge it, beat it, and head west to a Road only for Bicycles. I travel on it with my brand new bike. When I arrive at the other end, I go into the City that's right there, and challenge the tournament. After I win, I head South from there, into a cave, the Paragon Cave. I travel through, encountering new Crystal type pokemon, picking up a Squibon. I am told by a hiker in that cave that Squibon evolves while holding certain items. I ask him what they are, and he tells me about them. He then tells me how to get all 4 that I needed, but I only want one. I want to give it the Sapphire Robes, and train it up to evolve it into a Sapphic. Its type, Crystal/Fairy, and its ability, being Telepathy, are good enough. It will know Crystal Burst, Moon Blast, Cosmic Power, and Sapphire Soothing. It has a move no one else does, Sapphire Soothing. It heals Sapphic every turn, and heals more if it is inflicted with a Status Ailment, and, when combined Cosmic Power, makes it easier to stay out on the field longer, with Moon Blast and Crystal Burst to lay a beating on every opponent that opposes it.

I battle the next tournament, which is, what a Surprise, a Crystal tournament. It is a doubles tournament, and I get to choose between 3 skilled trainers to aid me here, Don, Derick, and the one and only Marik. I, of course, choose Marik. I had a ROTTEN time in it. I finally did overcome the tournament. I then continued on, and got to a fork in the road. One led to Dimin City, the other to the Icy Caverns. I go down that path, and come across a huge stretch of Colder Caverns filled with Ice type pokemon. The further I go, the colder it gets. I get to the end to see many ice type pokemon. I catch one for my final team member, being Magice. Frostic is a really good pokemon, being an Ice/Psychic type Pseudo-Legendary pokemon with the Ability Serene Grace, which DOUBLES the chance of secondary effects to activate. It'll have Blizzard, Psychic, Focus Blast, and Power Gem. Blizzard and Focus Blast may not hit too often, but hurt really badly when it does hit. Psychic and Power Gem are good in power, and add a bit of Variety in its moves.

I move on to Dimin City, face its Dark type tournament, then move on to the next road, which leads me to the next tournament town, which houses a Grass-Type Tournament. When I win, I am told that, to face the Elite Four, I need to go back to the Rain Forest. I do so, and see the path north has finally opened up. I hop on my bike and go down it to see Victory Road before me. I go through it, and when I come out of the other end, there it is. The Pokemon League. I approach, and am greeted by Marik. He congratulates me on getting this far. He heals my team, and says that to beat the Elite Four, I must have the Skill, the Courage, and the intelligence to take them on. I finally enter the first room. It's a normal type expert. I beat him pretty quickly with Clashriek, and I did the same with the next member, a Fighting type trainer, but with Thundreed. The next one, though, was tough. She was an Ice type trainer, but she was TOUGH. It wasn't her team, that was the problem. It was the moves her Ace had that irritated me. She also had a Frostic, which is okay, but it had Psyshock, Blizzard, Earth Power, and Boomburst. Every single move was good against a member of my team, except for Hydramel. She spammed all of her moves, and STILL took out Hydramel. I won, though. The next challenge was a Dragon Master, and she put up a REALLY good fight, and, even though I won, I was still honored to battle her.

The champion. I dreaded this moment. She was a Steel type trainer, from what I've heard. Her team was FIERCE. Cactuaro, Fernank, Awkurtle, Dimetarmor, Diamolf, and her Ace: Emeright! Each one was a threat to at least one member on my team, Cactuaro to my Hydramel, Fernank to my Frostic, Awkurtle to my Sapphic, Dimetarmor to my Thundreed, Diamolf to my Clashriek, and Emeright to my Magniake. I'm lucky I won.

So that was my team. Hydramel, Thundreed, Clashriek, Magniake, Sapphic, and Frostic.

my large amount of inactivity means 1 of 2 things: finals, or I'm sick...

It's both, this time. I didn't get my new holiday icon done, and so I'm using another one that I was saving for afterward.

Sorry for the absence.
